We’re big fans of Alpine’s push to give more drivers access to high-res audio in the car. Using technology developed for their flagship F#1 Status Series, Alpine’s Next Generation S-Series car speakers provide access to all the wondrous detail of your favorite high-resolution audio files at an appealing price. We recommend aftermarket power to drive these speakers, but even with factory power, their ultra-wide frequency response ensures a detailed, authentic sound.Innovative materials
Alpine packs supreme capability into these speakers by using highly effective materials and proprietary design elements. The lightweight woofer cone, crafted from polypropylene, glass fiber, and mica materials, serves up the essential high output/low distortion sound required for high-res performance. The High Amplitude Multi-Roll (HAMR) surround brings out the best in bass by allowing maximum cone movement. A 1″ separate cloth dome tweeter serves up all the high-frequency detail you’ve been missing with factory sound. Because tweeters can be challenging to install, Alpine provides in-line crossovers and a threaded removable housing to make sure you have what you need to make them sound their best. Grilles are not included; the factory grilles should be suitable for most applications.Product highlights:

Features
Woofer installation: The woofers’ mounting tabs can be removed, allowing installation in 4-hole or 2-hole 4″ applications. Adapter brackets are included to allow mounting them in factory 4×6 locations. Please enter your vehicle information to confirm fit.
Tweeter Mounting Options: The tweeters can be flush mounted using the supplied flush mount brackets and rings. Once mounted, the tweeters can swivel approximately 20° for optimum imaging. The tweeters can also be mounted in factory tweeter locations behind factory tweeter grilles using the supplied stealth mounting brackets. The stealth brackets have a multitude of tabs used for different mounting configurations. When not needed, the tabs are easily removed. The factory location measurements in the chart below are generally minimums, with some tabs removed. (The three mounting tabs in the tweeter housings are not symmetrical, so there is only one correct position to insert the tweeters.)

Crossovers: The Alpine S2-S40C features high-pass crossovers in-line with the tweeters’ speaker wires. The terminals on each tweeter wire easily plug into the tweeter and corresponding woofer. (They only plug in one way, so the polarity can’t be reversed.)
