EPIC Series mono subwoofer amplifier — 2000 watts RMS x 1 at 1 ohm
About the AudioControl EPIC2000
Compact, power-packed, and affordable
AudioControl’s EPIC2000 amplifier offers you more power per square inch and watts per dollar than most other car amplifiers on the market today. This mono subwoofer amp uses Class D technology to punch above its weight, sending out up to 2000 watts and make your sub sing out loud and clear with minimal stress to your car’s electrical system. All this power is packed into a rugged, compact amp that’ll fit in a lot of different spaces in a lot of different vehicles.Bass system power, control, and tuning
Lovers of loud bass can strap two EPIC2000s together to create a 4000-watt subwoofer system. The amplifier was designed specifically for subwoofers as it features low-pass and subsonic crossover filters to eliminate unwanted high- and ultra-low-frequencies from the mix, a tunable bass boost for extra oomph, and a wired remote control so you can fiddle with the bass volume from your front seat. The amp has preamp inputs only, so you’ll need a line output converter or a similar device like an EPICENTER to connect to a factory system if you’re not using an aftermarket radio with RCA outputs.Made for THE EPICENTER®
For ultimate bass sound and connectivity, the EPIC2000 includes a power and ground connection harness that’ll work with AudioControl’s EPICENTER bass enhancers, as well as with their other line output converters that take factory speaker-level signals and make them suitable for the amp’s input. Installation Note: This amplifier’s power consumption is beyond the capacity of most automotive electrical systems. To power this amp, your vehicle may require an electrical upgrade that could include a high-output alternator, a Big 3 battery wiring upgrade, and a second battery.Product highlights:

Features
Overview: The EPIC2000 monoblock subwoofer amplifier is part of AudioControl’s EPIC Series amplifiers, offering robust power and exceptional sound quality in a compact and thermally-efficient design. The Class-D mono amplifier is stable down to 1-ohm, and can be bridge-connected (strapped) to an additional EPIC2000 for up to 4000 watts combined power into a 2-ohm load. The EPIC2000 includes an ACR-E Remote Level Control for controlling the bass level from the driver’s seat.
Power: The AudioControl EPIC2000 can provide the following RMS output power (@ 14.4 V, < 1% THD):
- 800W x 1 @ 4-ohms
- 1400W x 1 @ 2-ohms
- 2000W x 1 @ 1-ohm
Bridged (Strapped) Connection: The EPIC2000 can be bridge-connected (strapped) to an additional Audio Control EPIC2000 (sold separately), providing up to 4000 watts of combined power into a 2-ohm load.
Controls & Indicators: All of the EPIC2000 controls and indicators are located on one end of the amplifier and include:
- Gain: This rotary gain control adjusts the overall level of the input signals.
- Low Pass Crossover: A rotary dial lets you set the cutoff frequency of the Linkwitz-Riley Low Pass Crossover; 40-180 Hz range with a 12 dB/octave slope.
- Subsonic Filter: Filters frequencies below the optimal range; filter can be set from 0-50 Hz.
- EPICBoost: A rotary control lets you select a frequency between 30 and 80 Hz and use the corresponding Level dial to add 0 to 12 dB of boost at the selected frequency.
- Power/Protect LED: Illuminates Blue when the amplifier is powered on and working nominally, and will change to Red if the amp detects a fault.
- Max. Indicator: An LED next to the Gain dial will glow briefly during loud bursts of music when the gain has been set for optimum performance. If the Max. Indicator is frequently lit, the Gain may need to be lowered.
Epicenter Link: The AudioControl EPIC2000 subwoofer amplifier features a 4-pin Epicenter Link port that lets you connect a compatible AudioControl EPICENTER Digital Bass Restoration Processor (sold separately), providing power, ground and turn-on connections for the processor. The Epicenter Link output is protected by a 1A mini fuse installed in the amp chassis.
ACR-E Remote Level Control: The included ACR-E Remote Level Control lets you independently adjust the subwoofer volume from the driver’s seat. The compact level control can be mounted under a dash or console and includes a 16′ connection cable terminated in RJ-14 connectors. Remote Level Control dimensions:
- Width: 1.76″
- Height: 0.98″
- Depth: 2.34″ (including knob and cable)
Connections: The EPIC2000 features set-screw wiring terminals that use the included 3mm and 2.5mm Allen (hex) keys for loosening/tightening. Connections include:
- Power & Ground: Power and Ground terminals will accept up to 1/0-gauge wire (recommended); Remote In terminal accepts up to 8-gauge wire (18-gauge is usually sufficient). The EPIC2000 amplifier does not include any fuses; a 200A fuse (sold separately) should be placed in-line on the power wire, no more than 18″ from the battery.
- Low-Level Inputs: A single pair of RCA jacks is provided for connecting the amp to the source unit via an RCA cable. The low-level inputs can accept audio signals from 500 mV to 6 V.
- Bridged In/Out: Two RCA jacks, In and Out, let you link two amplifiers (same model) together when bridging (strapping) them. The source unit signals are input on the first amp, with a single Bridged Out connection running to the Bridged In on the second amplifier. In this mode, all audio adjustments are made on the first amp, affecting the sound for both.
- Speaker Output: A single pair of set-screw terminals, accepting wire up to 4-gauge, are provided for the mono output connection.
- RJ-12 Jack: An RJ-12 jack provides the connection for the included ACR-E wired remote level control.
